Chopta, Auli – A Winter Wonderland That You Can't-Miss

If you love the snow, and you are in love with the Himalayan panoramic views, Chopta – Tungnath, and Auli – Joshimath are two trekking routes that you simply can’t miss in Uttarakhand. Auli is also referred to as a skiing paradise, as the place is covered in snow for most of the year. At an altitude of 2505 meters in the Garhwal district, Auli has everything to a snow lover’s fantasies. Chopta is situated at 2980 meters, offering majestic views of snow-capped ranges and picturesque landscapes. Camping at Baniyakund

Do you have a thing for adventure? You can set up a camp at Baniyakund (about 4 kms from Chopta), surrounded by quaint villages and panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayas. It is a well-known site for watching birds, parakeets, and others that fly in abundance in the area. Summer is the best time to set up a camp in the Baniyakund Meadows. 

Visiting the Kanchula Korak sanctuary 

Located at a distance of 7 km from Chopta, this is home to the rarest Himalayan musk deer and other exotic species. You can even get glimpses of some extremely rare wildflowers here. If you are into the natural ambiance and raw natural beauty, this is a must-visit during your stay in Chopta. 

Take a dip in Deori Tal

Do you love the waters? You can dip your feet in the crystal clear waters of Deori Tal, a small lake, situated 3 km from Sari village, Ukhimath. Surrounded by dense woods, it is also an excellent place for camping and bord-watching. If the skies are clear, you can get enchanting views of the Neelkantha, Kedar, and other famous peaks from here.
