Kausani is situated at a height of 1,890 meters. Kausani is a hill station and village in the Bageshwar district (6,200 ft). It is known for its picturesque beauty and 300-kilometer-wide panoramic vistas of Himalayan peaks such as Trisul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli. Because of the resemblance in the scenery, Mahatma Gandhi dubbed this location the “Switzerland of India.”

Before September 15, 1997, Kausani was part of the Almora district; once the Bageshwar district was split, it became part of the Bageshwar district. Coming to this gorgeous hill station without a plan is probably the best way to see it.

The magnificent play of colors on the mountain peaks surrounding Kausani can keep you occupied for a whole day. The breathtaking panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trishul, Nanda Devi, and the majestic Panchachuli from this settlement, nestled on a ridge covered in chir and blue pine woods, is well-known. The snow-capped peaks take on every color of the rising golden orb as the sun peeks above the horizon. You can also go exploring in the adjacent woods, which are teeming with wildlife, chirping birds, and trickling waterways.

Kausani has the coldest climate for the majority of the year. Temperatures range from 10 to 26 degrees Celsius in the summer. Winters are bitterly cold, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius. And the rainfall ranges from 3048 mm to 1777 mm.

  • Sumitra Nandan Pant Museum

It is a museum dedicated to Sumitra Nandan Pant. The Pant Museum is named after Sumitranandan Pant, a famous Hindi poet who was born in Kausani. It houses objects from his daily life, as well as draughts of his poetry, correspondence, and awards.
